Right-wing Republicans are busy once again spending time in Congress trying to 'Christianize' our American government. About 70 HR members are pushing H.R. 888 which would 'affirm the rich spiritual and religious history of our Nation's founding and subsequent history and expressing support for designation of the first week in May as `American Religious History Week' for the appreciation of and education on America's history of religious faith.'
Seems like these congressmen ought to be working on health care, better energy sources, wasteful spending, getting out of Iraq and the recession rather than pandering to the religious right agenda. Interestingly, included in H.R. 888 are passages from the Bible. No doubt, if given free reign, they would work to change our representative democracy into a theocracy, like Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Odd, isn't it, how religious zealots want to control governments for their own purposes.
