He's pathological, but most of us already knew that. Yesterday the ne'erdowell governor of Texas proclaimed that those dead shall not have died in vain. Well, hot exactly those words. He said, "The nation can best honor the dead by "defeating the terrorists. ... and by laying the foundation for a generation of peace."
Often his remarks need to be interpreted. For example, when he said, "Mission accomplished" in May 2003 he meant: "I told you it would be a piece of cake."
Thus his newest statement about 'honoring the dead' really means: 'We'll throw another thousand soldiers into their graves if we have to.'
What the hell does he care? Or Cheney? Or Rice? None of them have children or grandchildren dying. As Dick Cheney noted yesterday, "They all volunteered." Of course, he didn't and deferred out 5 times as he 'had better things to do.'
Three cowards using our military for canon fodder to save a failed ideology. Napoleon and Bismarck would be proud.
