They know what to do about public figures who engage in sexual liaisons while in office: get rid of them!
Funny, though about Idaho Senator Larry Craig and Louisiana Senator David Vitter. Both of them stood with their humiliated wives, one denying his sexual escapades and the other asking for forgiveness. They both are active members of Congress.
