Freedom from religion guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution apparently is not working in America. David Yonke of The Blade reports today that lessons on how to deal with anti-Semitism were held at the Jewish Community Center in Sylvania. Imagine that. People of the Jewish faith are targets of their own faith and are in need of ways to deal with ignorant folks who poke fun at their religion.
Ignorant folks, intolerant people living in 'the land of the free.' "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.." apparently has an asterisk.
This election season all of the GOP candidates save Ron Paul are boasting of their Christian credentials, Huckabee calling himself the Christian candidate. What a fool. And how foolish of us to tolerate such an un-Constitutional message. Yet millions of Americans are embracing his message. Huckabee is poised to win the GOP primary in South Carolina.
How far we have fallen from the original American dream, the dream of freedom from religion as written at the inception of this nation.
