Even though the word 'God' never appears at all in the U.S. Constitution, GOP candidate Huckabee said in Michigan that it ought to be changed to reflect God's laws.
"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution. But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."
Yes, he said that. I know, stop shaking your head. He did and he can't take it back.
The GOP is truly turning into God's party not unlike the Islamic Fundamentalists in Iran and Pakistan. They, too, want religion tightly wrapped in governance, siting Shira law as the law of the land.
Bringing Huckabee's 'god' into our Constitution is treason, pure and simple. Yet many millions of Americans bobble their heads in agreement with this flagrant statement. And, sadly, they vote.
